On the subject of deadlines
So, what the hell am I doing?
As you may have noticed, there has been a clear lack of updates on anything here. That’s true, I mostly post devlogs on my Discord server.
And, on this Discord server, several times have I thrown deadlines here and there. Somewhere in 2023. Q4 2023. January 2024. February 2024. Every time, I underestimate how much more I have to do.
Making this game from the ground up (yes, I did remake the entire game from scratch (at least 3 times) between Last Unity Build and now) is exhausting, because every time I have to rethink most of it, with only the assets carrying over (and even then, it’s a ship of Thesus situation where I remake most of the assets anyways)
But still, the current version has been worked on for a year now, and…
…what’s left for the demo?
- For sure, there is way more content than previous attempts ever had.
- All characters I had planned to add are added in the game.
- Audio sound effects are present, but unfinished for several characters and elements
- Music is almost done, I’m getting help from a friend for several tracks and am figuring out how to actually use LMMS better
- All planned levels are pretty much ready layout-wise. (and only one of them isn’t complete texture wise)
- Work on the bossfight has started, and 3 planned attacks are implemented
- Some (but not all) cutscenes are ready
- French translation is pretty much 100%, with a Spanish translation on the way (Thanks, KirbyCreep!)
So, any timeframe?
It is hard to estimate, but around June maybe? would be funny if it released on the 4 year anniversary of the game’s first build so that’s what I’m aiming for. But yeah, I still don’t know, we’ll see!

Setting deadlines is hard … speaking out of experience xD
